Farlow Glebe

Tree ID: 4813

Yews recorded: Ancient 5m-7m

Tree girth: 648cm

Girth height: not recorded

Tree sex: female

Date of visit: 12-Dec-15

Source of earliest mention: 2015: Paul Wood

Notes:

The yew was measured at the top of the root crown on the field side and 21′ 11” (668cm) was recorded. About 8” higher the tree is of slightly lesser girth but at this point twiggy growth prevented measurement. I would consider 21′ 3” (648cm) a good estimate of its lowest girth. It is a wonder that such a beautiful example of nature, growing right next to what was once a well worn path, has gone unnoticed for so long. Some holes at the base of the tree are caused by erosion rather than rot. The tree appears solid.
