Yews recorded: Ancient 5m-7m

Tree girth: 549cm

Girth height: at 30cm

Tree sex: male

Date of visit: 12-Jan-08

Notes:

As well as the copse yews, a little further along the road on the right hand side heading south is a large girthed yew, sandwiched between road and field. The tall male tree is twin trunked from the height of about 5′. Most distinctive are the low branches growing from one side of the tree at right angles and interfering with the perpendicular growth from the other. The tree’s dipping branches reach the ground about 10m from the trunk and from this branch layering have produced new trees.
