Notes:Girth of this yew might only be between 8′ and 9′, but is worthy of inclusion because of the way it has been managed. It is the only churchyard yew we know of to have been trained to grow in this manner. Even outside of churchyards examples are rare, such as those at Beaumanor Park and Shugborough. At Greywell the tree is surrounded on the north, west and south up to a distance of 20’/25′ by new growth. Epicormic growth is also noted on all the roots as they snake their way along the top of the ground and then shoot skywards. The entrance into this tree is on the east side, close to a wooden shed.
