Hampton Court - Herefordshire

Tree ID: 5112

Yews recorded: Ancient 4m-5m

Tree girth: 480cm

Girth height: at 30cm

Tree sex: male

Date of visit: 2-Feb-17

Source of earliest mention: 2017: Hugo Egleston

Notes:

The yew measures 15′ 9” (480cm) at 1′ above the highest point of the ground. A large portion of the trunk and crown have fallen away, before which the girth at the base would have been about 17′. There were still jagged edges of the missing portion of the trunk to put the tape around. The southern part of the crown has grown a thick curtain down to the ground on the lower side. This makes a shelter for stock on this exposed hillside. The bark on both trees has been rubbed. Grid reference is SO5265352696.
