8/9/2015 Peter Norton: Much ivy and thick stems of bramble covered the lower bole on the side facing the road, but access to the rear of the tree was possible. This is not private land and the tree will be under the protection of Hampshire CC. A fence at the rear of the tree marks the boundary between public and private land. The approximate girth of 17′ is from Hugo Egleston. It was not possible to measure the yew because of the combination of vegetation and much lower growth on the tree.
