Notes:The Short History of Hartshead Church by Mabel Ferrett records ‘the ancient yew, dead now for over 100 years’. The photograph taken in 2002 is a fine illustration of the long lasting nature of yew wood. There is no reason why it should not be a presence in this churchyard for many more decades.
