November 2012 – Tim Hills: The yew is on a mound, and leans slightly to the south. At about 8′ the bole straightens with a flurry of twiggy growth above which rise several branches. Though of small girth it has already become a horse shoe shaped hollow tree. Inside of this I removed (and replaced) a piece of dead sapwood and heartwood to reveal an internal stem.
With a girth of under 4m the tree has previously been classified as notable. Because it displays veteran characteristics it is now classified as V-con (veteran on account of its condition).
