1999 – Owen Johnson: 352cm (11′ 6”) at 50cm
March 2008 – Owen Johnson: The larger of two yews is an old tree of which only half of its hollow bole remains.
2019 – Sandra Williams: There are two yews in the churchyard of St Martin’s. Both are situated alongside the Canterbury Road in Herne village, CT6 7HN, at the eastern end of the church. They were measured on 12th March 2019 by Tree Officer, David Carey. The more northerly of the two is a hollowing yew with a girth of 4.69m. The smaller yew had a girth of 3.85m. It is not clear at what height these measurements were taken.
