Tree ID: 5126
Yews recorded: Ancient 4m-5m
Tree girth: 400cm
Girth height: at 30cm
Tree sex: male
Date of visit: 3-Nov-16
Source of earliest mention: 2016: Tim Hills
Notes:November 2016 Tim Hills: A most unusual specimen growing on a mound. Half of the tree appears to have been sawn off, and so at the ground about 2′ 6” of its girth is dead. There is no real branching below a height of about 15′. On the living side of the tree there has also been damage and large lost branches have been replaced with newer material. At a height of 25’/30′ the structure is suddenly truncated. The tree’s bark is so flaky that when pieces fall off they would affect the girth.
On the day the following girths were recorded: 13’1½” (400cm) at 1′, 12′ 10” (391cm) at 2′ and 12′ 8½” (388cm) at 3′.
