Notes:On the side of the yew facing the field, many lower limbs have been removed to protect stock. Foliage facing the road has also been regularly cut back. As well as thin roots stretching along the bank, the tree has developed a unusual mass of thick root material which looks far more than is necessary to sustain the tree in its present form. It asks the question whether this was once a much larger tree.
