Col.A.R.Hamilton (1897) recorded three fine specimens of Taxus Hibernica, a weeping variety. He also noted a 10′ girthed yew in the 2nd garden with ‘roots and branches interlaced’ and two 10′ girthed twin-stemmed yews growing in the kitchen garden.
