June 2011 – Tim Hills: The largest girthed of the yews is the furthest away of the pair growing SW of the church. It grows on the perimeter wall above the castle moat. The 1st photo shows it as seen from the moat. It shows a break in its circle of growth and behind this the tree is probably hollowing, leading eventually to a horse shoe shaped tree. Girth 14′ approximately. 2016 – Paul Wood: One side of this tree has been cut to create a hedge so the yew now looks more like a thick bush. Measurement was not possible. Ivy was encroaching.
