A ‘tree of considerable magnitude’ growing northwest of the church was described in 1845. In 1871 a ‘slight extension on the north side’ caused the removal of tombs and at the same time destroyed two yew trees. In Memories of Kington by W.Edwards we are told that the boles were cut up and divided among the masons.
