August 2000 – Tim Hills: A fine spread of branches but with thin foliage. One major opening in its bole of 6′ high and 2′ 6” wide reveals a massive internal stem/root of 8′ girth. There are 3 further places around the bole covered with only a thin skin of dead wood. When these decay it will be possible to walk through the centre of the tree.
May 2013 – Peter Norton: Tree Location on Google Maps is 48.945807,-1.413567 The male yew grows opposite the west wall of the church, two major cavities with one large internal stem. Measured just above the ground from the top of the sloping ground a girth of 23′ 3” (709cm) was recorded, so an increase of approximately 3” in 13 years.
