Girth height: at 120cm

Tree sex: female

Source of earliest mention: 1980: Tree Register Data Base

Notes:

February 1998 – Tim Hills: It was almost impossible to see the tree, hidden behind twiggy growth and a fence, and given the same status as the dustbins and compost heap. A girth of 19′ was estimated.
May 2013 – Tim Hills: It was now possible to see what a fine tree this is. It was measured as 20′ 7” (627cm) at 4′ above the path, at the base of a new stem forming on the side of the tree. Because of soil piled up on the other side it is not possible to see the tree’s base here. A higher girth measure of about 24′ is obtained by taping close to the ground, but this figure is swollen by adventitious growth.
