Tree ID: 2385
Yews recorded: Notable
Tree girth: 373cm
Girth height: at 30cm
Tree sex: male
Date of visit: 20-Jan-07
Source of earliest mention: 1938: The King's England - Arthur Mee
Notes:January 2007 – Tim Hills: Such close proximity to the building has resulted in the tree being much cut. At some stage it was reduced to a height of about 15′ – above this height grow many uniformly sized branches. The tree has been larger, with decaying wood at the ground providing the evidence. Some of this heartwood still circles the internal stems. The structure leans towards the church. 12′ 3” (373cm) at 1′ recorded.
2015 – Paul Wood: The tree has apparently had a further major cutback in recent time. Girth recorded at 1′ was identical to that recorded in 2007 – 12′ 3” (373cm).
With a girth of under 4m the tree is presently classified as notable. Because it displays veteran characteristics it will in the future be classified as V-con (veteran on account of its condition).
