Notes:A tree of some size is shown in a drawing of 1807 and an engraving of 1809. A yew growing in the same position can be seen today. Although small girthed it has features of a healing fragment of a once larger tree. The art work from 200 years ago would seem to confirm this. John McKenzie from Linton wrote: ‘The tree is approximately 3m circ. at approx 1m from the ground. The trunk does lean somewhat to the east.’
