Llanddetty Hall Farm

Tree ID: 1218

Yews recorded: Ancient 5m-7m

Tree girth: 612cm

Girth height: at 30cm

Tree sex: unspecified

Date of visit: 19-Jul-02

Source of earliest mention: 1970: Brecon Yew Survey

Notes:

July 2002 – Tim Hills: When viewed from the road, trimmed low growth on the lower bole gives it the appearance of being part of a hedge. The other side of the bole, facing the field, is mostly of dead wood. Girth was 20′ 1” (612cm) at 1′.
June 2016 – Paul Wood: At the time of my visit the farm was for sale and major building work was going on. The yew, at the roadside entrance, was covered in long twiggy growth and surrounded with nettles, thistles and brambles. Neither could it be approached from the field side through a barbed wire fence.
