Notes:Earliest mention of the avenue (1833) describes it as follows: ‘The church is approached by an avenue of fine yew-trees’. There are eight on each side of the path. To the NE of the church is a patch of rough ground in which several other yews grow. One of these was noted in 1897 by John Lowe, girthing 11′ 1” at the ground and 8′ 11” at 3′.
