In 1899 ‘Col. W.E.Llewellyn Morgan (p5) mentioned that ‘on the south side of the church are the remains of a very old yew tree which was burnt down a few years ago’.’ John Andrew more recently noted that all that remained was a ‘small part of the stump situated on a large mound’.
