Notes:Tree 1 on the plan. Grows inside a double wall. Of solid appearance, though one gap reveals hollowing with internal growth. Its large girth is retained for a considerable height, dividing into 2 main branches at a height of between 20 and 25 feet. In 1998 a girth of 19′ 6” (594cm), a figure swollen by ivy stems, was recorded at 1′. Without the surrounding walls this would be at a height of 5′ above the ground.
In 2014 a girth of 18′ 4” (559cm) close to the ground was recorded.
