November 1997 – Tim Hills: Two fragments, the smaller pulling away from the larger. A metal brace around both fragments appears to be serving its purpose. At the time of our visit the churchyard had been tidied and the drying grass stored beneath the yew’s branches.
When I visited in 2000 a girth of 23′ 7” (719cm) at the ground was recorded, allowing the tape to rise above bulges.
By July 2014 this had increased to 23′ 11” (729cm) at the ground, allowing the tape to ride over a small section of root.
2017 – Peter Norton: The metal brace holding the fragmented section in place has cut into the outer trunk. I recorded a girth of 24′ 5” (744cm) using the embedded nails as a guide.
