Notes:

Over centuries the ground level around this tree has risen by several feet hiding the original base of the tree. How large it once was is not known. At a height of 4′ above the present ground level rise more than a dozen stems of similar girth around the edge of the original bole. It suggests that the tree was cut down to this height more than 100 years ago. Girth, ivy affected, was 15′ 10” at 1′. Behind the wall is a drop of 6′ to the field below.
