Site of a lost yew. The Visitor’s Guide to the church has the following description: The altar is made like a box and inside the lid are carved the words: ‘Made of an old yew tree 16 feet round and blown down in this churchyard Feb 1841’. Was the male yew that grows SE planted as its replacement?
