The largest of the yews here is this fine specimen with a twisted, fluted trunk. It is known locally as ‘Old Faithfull’. It is the largest of a number of fine yews above Londesborough Park and one of the largest in East Yorks. It is close enough to the church to ask the question of whether it was originally a churchyard specimen.
