Notes:Here is a very large and well established yew. It took about 45 minutes to get the tape around the base of the tree at its narrowest point close to the ground. The pictures cannot do justice to a tree whose three large main branches radiate from the 90% hidden bole. At a height of 12′ the branches are strong and growing well, though those at the side of the road have by necessity been trimmed back.
