Maddington

Tree ID: 1185

Yews recorded: Notable

Tree girth: 266cm

Girth height: above roots

Tree sex: female

Date of visit: 1-Sep-09

Source of earliest mention: 1946: The Churchyard Yew and Immortality-Cornish

Notes:

This yew grows to the west of the north churchyard entrance. There is well established internal growth and evidence of the rotting and decayed outer trunk. Its small girth does not take into account the missing trunk.
With a girth of under 4m the tree is presently classified as notable. Because it displays veteran characteristics it will in the future be classified as V-con (veteran on account of its condition).
