Tree ID: 2695
Yews recorded: Ancient 5m-7m
Tree girth: 528cm
Girth height: at 10cm
Tree sex: unspecified
Date of visit: 8-Jul-15
Source of earliest mention: 2004: Owen Johnson
Notes:The yew grows on a considerable mound on the south side of the church building.
2008 – Owen Johnson: A girth of 17′ 4” (528cm) at 4′ recorded.
2015 – Tim Hills: I taped close to the ground to obtain the minimum and recorded exactly 18′ (549cm). This would have been less without what remained of ivy stems. The tree’s north side is opened up following the removal of branches which would have grown towards the building. Old hollowed out branches now have new wood growing around them, while new branches forming at the edge of the bole on the south side will swell its girth in the future. One branch rises arrow straight in the centre of the tree, which has considerable height.
