Notes:One large male yew grows on the side of a south facing steep slope, overhanging the road between Milton Abbas and Hilton and close to a footpath. The girth recorded was 11’ 9” (358cm) at 1’ from the top of the slope, increasing to 12’ 10” (391cm) at 2’. Many younger yew are scattered about on the south facing slope – their estimated girths no larger than 8’.
