Notes:

August 2005 – Tim Hills: Overall shape of the tree affected by damage to its main branch a considerable time ago. At about 20′ a large hollowed out section can be seen, by the side of which rise two replacement branches leading to a crown shaped like a steep sided triangle. Gaps in the bole reveal both crumbling heartwood and hollow spaces. Most of the ivy had been removed. Girths recorded were 14′ 6” (442cm) at 15” and 15′ 2” (462cm) at 5′.
28/07/2020 – Tim Hills: The yew was remeasured at a height of 5′. Girth had increased from 15′ 2” (462cm) in 2005 to 15′ 6” (472cm) in 2020. This is not a good height to obtain accurate and repeatable measurements. It was also measured in 2020 at a height of 2′ (where a nail was embedded) and 14′ 7½” (446cm) was recorded.
