July 2005 – Tim Hills: This red-barked and twisted bole of this well documented yew rises from the centre of a claustrophobic cloister. At about 14′ the bole breaks to many branches. Elder had taken root in its platform. Lowe recorded a girth at the ground of 10′ in 1897.
