September 2012 – Tim Hills: Ivy covers yew E (as it did in 2003) and the space beneath its branches has become a storage place for drying grasses. Girth close to the ground was 18′ 8” (569cm) . The photos, taken in 2015 show the transformation that follows the removal of ivy. Having got rid of it sometime between 2012 and 2015, it will need further treatment to prevent it overwhelming the tree again.
November 2015 – Paul Wood: Yew E has had its ivy trimmed down to ground level, though the ground around the tree, feeling like quicksand, was still covered in ivy. I measured at 1′ above the ground and recorded 18′ 8” (569cm).
