August 2000 – Tim Hills: The large yew, growing NW of the church, has had many branches removed, some recently, and foliage was thin. In spite of this it retains an elegant multi branched shape.
October 2011 – Han van Meegeren: An information sign by the tree gives a girth of ‘around 7.15 m measured at a height of 1.00 m’. It also states that the tree was planted around the year 1400. Nicorps lies just south of Coutances. Before you reach the cemetery you pass a beautiful Linden tree. Pollarded lime trees will lead you to the entrance and immediately behind the fence you see on the right an old yew. This tree is honored as ‘special French tree’ by the French trees foundation (Association A.R.B.R.E.).
