Oakhills Coppice SSSI - Long Crichel

The yew is very hairy and difficult to measure, so the recorded girth can only be an approximation. It has a large swollen base with one very large low lateral limb. The tree supports one of the rare lichens that has led to this patch of woodland receiving its SSSI status. The tree is numbered 57781 in the Ancient Tree Hunt. Also in this Ancient Semi-Natural Woodland is a small grove of yews with a couple of trees girthing about 3m.
