Old Glassinghall House

Tree ID: 1775

Yews recorded: Ancient 4m-5m

Tree girth: 470cm

Girth height: No data

Tree sex: female

Date of visit: 13-Feb-18

Source of earliest mention: 2018: Ailsa Gray

Notes:

In spite of its large girth, the yew has the appearance of a tree that was planted when the present house was built. As can be seen in the photos, numerous branches that once developed at right angles to the trunk have been removed. It is possible that at one time these spread outwards from the trunk, perhaps to produce a yew hedge or another type of yew feature.
