Tree ID: 2502
Yews recorded: Ancient 4m-5m
Tree girth: 422cm
Girth height: at 90cm
Tree sex: Female
Date of visit: 31-Mar-04
Source of earliest mention: 1994: The Sussex Tree Book - Owen Johnson
Notes:March 2004 – Tim Hills: The yew grows above a steep drop to the road below. Its bole of about 3′ divides into three main branches. The bulgy section by the road is probably the result of managing the tree to prevent branches spreading across the road. On the day of the visit several feet of drying/decaying grasses were stored beneath the tree. Girth was 13′ 10” (422cm) at 3′.
