Source of earliest mention: 2013: Tim Hills

Notes:

June 2013 – Tim Hills: A vigorous and healthy yew. Present girth is above 12′ but the tree has been larger in the past. On its west side branches dip close to the ground. Its east side, seen in the photographs, is completely open. A large stone has been swallowed up in centre of tree, which consists of a jumble of internal stems. At a height of about 6′ the tree appears to have been pollarded, creating a platform around the edges of which now grow many stout upright branches. From many of these, roots have formed which now grow downwards into the decaying heartwood.
With a girth of under 4m the tree is presently classified as notable. Because it displays veteran characteristics it will in the future be classified as V-con (veteran on account of its condition).
