2000 – Toby Hindson: A big solid yew with a flourishing canopy and long fluted bole. 2003 – Russell Cleaver: A fine female tree (21′ 0”/6.40m at 1.1m), full crown, small basal hollow. Once part of the Paulton Estate, the yew once stood by a farmhouse in 1513. June 2013 – Peter Norton: The large female yew has a 6′ break of crown with eight major branches, some of which are hollowing, and healthy looking foliage. One basal cavity of the tree’s south side reveals that it is partially hollow. No internal root could be seen. Girth was recorded as 20′ 7” (627cm) at the root crown. Tree has been recorded in the Ancient Tree Hunt with a girth of 6.56m (21′ 6”) at 1m.
