1986 – J.Daryll Evans: In The Churchyard Yews of Gwent he recorded a girth of 705 cm (23′ 2″) at 1m.
1999 – Tim Hills: Twiggy growth hides the bole, cable carrying electricity finds a route through its branches, soil fills many of the gaps in the tree, roots are undermined by its position on a slope and ivy has almost taken over. In spite of all this, foliage it thick and the tree appears healthy. Girth approximately 21′ (640cm).
