Notes:

March 2017 – Paul Wood: The yew, number 2 on the plan, has a fluted bole about 6′ tall before an array of limbs shoot in all directions. The tree has had limbs removed in the past. While no hollowing can be seen at ground level, further up in the canopy could be seen white wood limbs emerging from within the tree, suggesting that hollowing is taking place. The tree has a canopy of green foliage with plentiful growth throughout. A small amount of ivy was present but does not yet present any problems. At a height of 2′ on the SW side of the yew a nail has been hammered in. This is not good practice and the tree is oozing, creating discolouration on the trunk. I nonetheless used this as a marker to measure the tree. It is the narrowest point and a girth of 12′ 4” (376cm) was recorded. At some time in the recent past a concrete litter bin stand has been placed right next to the yew.
