August 2003 – Tim Hills: The year 1700 has been given as a planting date for this yew. It grows centrally inside a square wall. Several parts of its bole are decaying and internal growth is visible. I recorded 11′ 4” (345cm) at the ground.
October 2021: I recorded 369cm (12′ 1”) at 1m and 371cm (12′ 2”) at the height of several embedded nails which vary in their height above the ground. An attempt to record the lowest girth above a bulging root section was also 371cm ( 12′ 2”).
With a girth of under 4m the tree is presently classified as notable. Because it displays veteran characteristics it will in the future be classified as V-con (veteran on account of its condition).
