Tree ID: 2646
Yews recorded: Ancient 4m-5m
Tree girth: 444.5cm
Girth height: at 5cm
Tree sex: unspecified
Date of visit: 5-Oct-07
Source of earliest mention: 2005: James Heap
Notes:2007 – Tim Hills: The yew just inside the castle grounds and adjacent to the churchyard was recorded with a girth of 14′ 7” (444.5cm) close to the ground.
2016 – Paul Wood: There is relatively new barbed wire fencing around the yew and it was not possible to get close to the bole. The canopy of this yew is now just touching the ground, except for a small portion that overhangs the churchyard. Here you can just get in under the canopy. Sadly this space was full of the churchyard rubbish. The yew looks healthy enough, though foliage had a yellow tinge to it over most of the tree.
