March 1999 – Tim Hills: East of the church. Hollow, with internal growth. A large central branch appears to have been truncated at a height of about 15′. There were signs of fire/smoke damage.
2005 – Visited by John Hodges – tree continues to flourish. The following girths were recorded: 23′ 4″ (711cm) at the ground; 22′ 10″ (696cm) at 1′; 24′ 2″ (737cm) at 3′.
