Notes:

1847 – The Clergyman’s Companion states that “In our God’s Acre there is a magnificent yew tree 19 feet in circumference, very old and venerable. This is attributed to George Crawford Caffin, Rector of Ripple.
1848: A Topographical Dictionary of England recorded that ‘in the churchyard are two fine yew-trees’.
March 1999 – Tim Hills: The larger of two yews grows north west of the church. Twiggy growth from the lower bole is beginning to hide parts of the seat which encircles the tree. The girth of 19′ was recorded in 1909.
