Notes:July 2018 Tim Hills: The tree sits on top of a very large root base which measures more than 12 metres around. The yew had a girth of 5.59m (18′ 4”) at its narrowest point, about 60cm above the highest ground and with a horizontal tape. Ivy on the trunk was hiding its internal growth. On the hollow side a large piece has been sawn off. To the right of this appears to be a dead branch, but it is from this point that there rises a substantial portion of the tree. On the south side of the tree is another gash, suggesting that it might one day become two fragments. A girth of 5.52m (18′ 1”) at 130cm was recorded on 14/07/2011 by Wim Peeters.
