Notes:The yew retains its large girth for a considerable height and is a powerful presence in the churchyard. Girth of 6.32m (20′ 9”) at 20cm becomes 7.60m (24′ 11”) at a height of 90cm over its bulging trunk. This measurement was recorded by threading the tape through twiggy growth and could not be accurately repeated. There is just one gap at the base to reveal that there are large hollow spaces inside this tree.
