Notes:The yew grows upwards rather than outwards. Its straight trunk is fluted and the bark is very flaky. Smaller branches grow above a height of 2.5m and the main uprights develop at a height of about 5m. There were no signs of hollowing. A single root emerges and travels for about 1m above the ground before being cut off. Girths were recorded as follows: 3.95m (12′ 11”) at 30cm; 3.88m (12′ 9”) at 100cm; 3.87cm (12′ 8”) at 130cm.
