Yews recorded: Ancient 5m-7m
Tree girth: 664cm
Girth height: at 20cm
Tree sex: female
Date of visit: 1-Jul-12
Source of earliest mention: 2012: Han van Meegeren
Notes:July 2018 Tim Hills: Here is an exceptional example to illustrate some of the stages a yew might go through before presenting as two young looking trees growing close to each other. Over the next hundred years, or perhaps even more, the stump remains will be worn away until they disappear. The two fragments remaining will probably become more circular and appear as two young looking trees growing close to each other. A young yew also grows only 2m away from the stump. Girth around the stump and fragments was 6.64m (21′ 9”) at 20cm. Girth around the fragment trees was 5.77m (18′ 11”) at 1m.
