Notes:

2018 Tim Hills: Bulging roots support this yew fragment. It is only metres from a busy road. A wall and some railings, which the yew overhangs, were presumably put in place after half the tree was lost. Measured above the bulgy root but not including the piece of stump, girth was 3.30m around the fragment.
Wim Peeters described a neatly trimmed tree that has been larger. What remains of the original is hollow, while the wood on the inside of the tree has been painted with some sort of wood preservative. Next to this and still joined is a large piece of sawn-off yew stump.
