Sarnesfield

1868: The following was written about this yew: ‘Dr. Bull gave also the dimensions of the Sarnesfield yew-tree. It measured 21ft. 3in. at five feet from the ground, and was said to be ninety feet high, though he scarcely thought it could be so high as this’.
November 2011 – Tim Hills: I measured the yew at between 1′ and 2′ to obtain the lowest reading and recorded 20′ 9” (632cm) . I also measured at 2′ above the higher ground and keeping the tape horizontal recorded 21′ 3” (648cm).
October 2015 – Paul Wood: The tree appeared as recorded in 2011. The smallest measurement was obtained between 1′ and 2′, with 20′ 9” (632cm) recorded.
